HOw much can locksmiths make

Locksmith Earnings

The chart above shows the national average salary for a trained locksmith (from Salary.com). Several factors will determine where locksmiths fall within the salary range.

Please note, we make no promise or committment about job opportunities after your training. Our focus is on teaching you skills used in locksmithing. No amount of introductory skills training will prepair you to be a fully functioning, operating locksmith. You will need to take that training and use it to land a job as an apprentice.

Pay When Working for a company that pays a straight hourly salary

Starting locksmiths with little or no experience earn at or just above minimum wage. This is becuase the company that is hiring you will be continuing your training until they are confident you can perform the functions of locksmithing in a vehicle on your own. Until then you are an expense to their company.  That salary can quickly rise as locksmiths gain knowledge and skills. A seasoned technician, at the top of the trade, can easily earn over $70,000 per year in the Phoenix area (I know, we employ a few).

Upon completing our Arizona Locksmiths Basic Skills training you will have many of the base skills used by locksmiths should you decide to enter the locksmith industry.

Pay when Working for a company that pays commission, or a hybrid salary/commission

Pay in this case depends primarily on how well the locksmith performs (how many jobs they can do in a day) and skill level. Harder jobs that require more skill, charge higher rates, and will make more money as a career progresses. Commission based pay is ideal for those that learn fast, work fast, and perform quality work as it allows you to quickly get to the mid-point of the salary range.

salary when Running Your Own mobile locksmith service

This option is most attractive, but no course we offer and, in our opinion, no course being offered no matter it's length or depth, will substitute for years working in the locksmith industry. Locksmiths need a wide base of knowledge to support customers. Running your own service carries the most risk if calls aren't coming in. Here, what a locksmith makes solely depends on his/her skills, marketing expertise, and performance.
